(Senior) Legal Counsel
Responsibilities:
- Draft, reviewing and negotiation for a wide range of transactional and financing agreements in relation to aircraft and business operation in various jurisdictions, including aircraft purchase and lease contracts amendment agreements and loan agreements;
- Dealing with transactions through documentation phase to closing with deal deadlines;
- Providing timely, cost effective and technically correct legal advice in a user friendly and decisive manner;
- Collating and managing input from technical, risk, finance and commercial departments into transaction documentation and negotiation;
- Review, draft and prepare letters of intent, purchase, sales and lease agreements, and a variety of commercial contracts in relations to aircraft;
- Management and coordination of the work of outside counsel in diverse foreign jurisdictions;
- Perform any ad hoc duties or business travel as assigned by company.
Requirements:
- Law degree holder (LLB or equivalent); common law preferred;
- Qualified lawyer with 5 to 7 years’ or higher work experience in aircraft leasing /asset management or for a major law firm specializing in asset management/aircraft leasing and financing;
- Trained at an international law firm is highly preferred;
- Experience in handling global related corporate/commercial matters is an advantage;
- Detail minded, self-motivated with strong sense of responsibility and able to work under pressure and tight timeline;
- Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese, especially Mandarin and a commonsense approach to issues management;
- Excellent communication skill, analytical skill and interpersonal skills; and
- Proficient in MS office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese Word Processing.
