On 28 May 2021, Mr John Leung, Director of the Beijing Office and Ms Beatrice Chiu, Director of the Tianjin Liaison Unit of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region(HKSAR), led a team of delegates, including Ms. Pamela Lam, JP and Deputy Director and Ms. Mandy Wong, Assistant Director of The Beijing office of the HKSAR, as well as Mr. Wong Wah, Deputy Director of The Tianjin Liaison Unit, to visit the Beijing Office of China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited (“CALC”), and conducted in-depth communications via on-location and online meetings with Mr. Mike Poon, the Group Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Group, and Ms. Winnie Liu, Executive Director and Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Mr. Barry Mok, Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Financial Officer, etc. 

As a leading global aircraft lessor founded and listed in Hong Kong and having been growing with the support from China Everbright Group, the financial conglomerate directly supervised by Central Government, CALC delivered a review of the journey the Group has been through in the last 15 years in contributing to the development of China aviation development via integration of the aviation and financing industries, emerging into a world-leading full-industry-chain aviation solutions provider, the development prospect of the aircraft leasing industry in the post-pandemic era and the development trends for the global aviation industry.

The visiting delegates from the Beijing Office and the Tianjin Liaison Unit of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government went at lengths to understand situations of the Group and the industry, and expressed their intention to jointly promote the cooperation and development of Hong Kong and the mainland provinces and cities in the area of aircraft leasing, capitalizing on Hong Kong’s edges in international finance, trade, and professional services and unleashing the full potential of the aviation industry as a “super connector” hub.
